
Dr. John Pyun received his undergraduate degree of Molecular Cell Biology with distinction from the University of California, Berkeley. He was a Dean's Honor List Recipient and had the distinguished honor of receiving the Regent's and Chancellor's Scholarship Award upon graduation.
He later completed his M.D. Cum Laude at SUNY Upstate Medical University. During his medical school, he published 4 research findings to further the field of ophthalmology. Upon graduation, he was awarded as a member of the Gold Human's Honor Society as part of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. He was also part of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and earned the Merck Manual Award, which is given to a few doctors with high academic excellence and phenomenal contributions to the local communities.
After earning his MD, Dr. Pyun finished his internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and then trained in Ophthalmology at the Loma Linda Eye Institute.
Dr. Pyun is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care and is interested in global health. Among his patients and medical staff, he is known for being a lively, compassionate physician as well as a skillful, well-trained surgeon.
In his free time, he is an avid 49ers fan, coffee enthusiast, and enjoys a round of golf.
